One of San Francisco’s most premier neighborhoods where everyone still seems to know one another other, Forest Hill Extension is a small, peaceful community adjacent to Forest Hill. The area is known for its shady, tree-lined streets and grand single-family homes built in a variety of architectural styles. A variety of nearby parks and hidden stairways make Forest Hill Extension an ideal place for families, dog owners, and nature lovers. While there’s so much tranquility here, residents can also enjoy the conveniences of city living.

Within walking distance is the bustling commercial district West Portal, whose streets are lined with popular restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, specialty stores, and even a quaint movie theater. Convenient public transportation includes a MUNI streetcar station that whisks commuters straight downtown, as well as easy freeway access for those who work in Silicon Valley. The area boasts an active neighborhood association that hosts an annual chamber music festival, holiday events, and other community-building activities at the beautiful Forest Hill Clubhouse. ©2016 Maryann LoRusso
